Procedure for Review

The Pakistan Journal of Advances in Medicine and Medical Research (PJAMMR) upholds a rigorous and transparent peer-review process to ensure the scientific validity, originality, and ethical integrity of all published content. The review process is designed to maintain high academic standards, promote evidence-based research, and enhance the quality of medical literature.

1. Initial Manuscript Evaluation

Upon submission, all manuscripts undergo a preliminary assessment by the Editorial Office to verify compliance with:
Journal scope and guidelines
Ethical and plagiarism screening (using advanced plagiarism detection software)
Adherence to ICMJE and COPE publishing standards

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s basic requirements may be returned for revision or declined at this stage.

2. Peer-Review Assignment

PJAMMR follows a double-blind peer-review system, ensuring that both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to maintain impartiality and objectivity.

✔ Each manuscript is assigned to two or more expert reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area.
✔ The reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on originality, scientific soundness, methodology, data analysis, ethical considerations, and clinical significance.
✔ Reviewers provide detailed constructive feedback and recommendations for acceptance, revision, or rejection.

3. Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewers’ reports, the editorial board makes one of the following decisions:

Accept without changes – The manuscript meets all publishing standards and is accepted for publication.
Minor Revisions – Authors must address minor concerns before final acceptance.
Major Revisions – Significant improvements are required; the revised manuscript is subject to re-evaluation.
Reject – The manuscript does not meet the journal's standards for publication.

Authors are expected to submit revised manuscripts within the stipulated timeframe, addressing all reviewer comments systematically.

4. Final Review & Publication

✔ Once revised, the manuscript undergoes a final evaluation by the Editorial Board to ensure all revisions have been properly implemented.
✔ The final proofreading and formatting process is conducted before publication.
✔ Accepted articles are published online first, followed by inclusion in the upcoming issue.

5. Ethical Considerations & Transparency

PJAMMR adheres to the highest ethical publishing standards, ensuring:
Strict adherence to COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines
Prevention of conflicts of interest between authors, reviewers, and editors
Commitment to data integrity, research transparency, and reproducibility

The Editorial Board reserves the right to retract or correct articles post-publication if ethical violations or errors are identified.

6. Timeline for Review Process

PJAMMR is committed to ensuring a timely yet thorough review process:
???? Initial Screening – 1 to 2 weeks
???? Peer Review Process – 4 to 6 weeks
???? Author Revisions – 2 to 4 weeks
???? Final Decision & Publication – 2 to 3 weeks

7. Appeals & Disputes

Authors who disagree with editorial decisions may submit a formal appeal, providing evidence-based justifications. Appeals are reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief and an independent advisory panel before a final decision is made.
